•The project will be carried out in
phases on an estimated area of 1.32 million square
meters. Individual developers will develop blocks
in accordance with Sorouh’s master concept
•25 per cent of the area
(134.6hectares) of the 633 hectare Al Reem Island
will be developed by Sorouh with approximately 90
per cent of the area devoted to residential living
environments and 10 per cent for the commercial and
service sectors
•The project is expected to
accommodate approximately 100,000 people and is one
of largest in the region
•Building heights will be between 3
and 75 stories
•Shams Abu Dhabi will provide
opportunities for other real estate developers from
the UAE and internationally to create approximately
22,000 residential units
•The project will have an integrated
infrastructure and network
•There will be a central park of 8.3
hectares or approximately one million square feet
•Four kilometers of water canals will
run throughout the development with an average width
of 15 meters
•Al Reem Island is 300 meters
offshore and will be linked to Abu Dhabi by two
bridges
•The entire project is scheduled for
completion by 2011
